"Things I Learned While I Was Sick"

#1. Fever equals the best weight loss plan.

I had hovered at 209 for months. Beats 325 a year and a half ago. But lately, and especially during CWS, I put on six pounds. Eating habits went to hell, and I felt it too. So after CWS, I went back to Healthy Choice for a week. Lost about 3 pounds. Then I got sick. Fever robbed me of any desire to eat at all. So this morning I was shocked to see something I never thought I would see again. A weight under 200. I was 199.6. I know a few of it will come back as I get back to normal.

#2 Fever is NOT a good diet plan.

I need to get back to doing what I love, which is trying new stuff in the kitchen at home. Trying new recipes and making them my own with modification was a hobby of mine, and lead to an eventual career change. Somehow, I left this year rob me of that fun. Time to return to things that invigorate and revitalize me.

#3 I spend too much time involved in work.

I need a better balance. You are right Ken!

#4 I worry too much about neglecting the other half.

"I've been around your foodservice crazy schedule for over six years now. It is not a problem for me. I have never complained. I do not know why you feel you are neglecting me, or need to compensate by robbing your own interests to have "us time". I am quite content just being in the same house and watching a Cubs game, while you read a cookbook or explore the internet. I am used to the schedule. Get rid of the self imposed guilt and do what makes you happy." Hmmmm...why do I tend to worry over others happiness before my own?

So...more me time, more fun time, more healthy eating. After all, I am not getting any younger!
